Jewish Femininity Photography Exhibit
Sunday, March 26 at 7:30 pm
Beth El is proud to display the emBODYment of Jewish Femininity photography project by Aviva Braun-Finkler, LCSW. Come that evening to explore the photos and their stories, hear from Aviva and Lori Schuldiner Schor, one of the subjects. The exhibit explores the connection of Jewish women to their bodies. The project and exhibit started with 16 women, but it is ongoing and growing. The emBODYment of Jewish femininity is a collaboration of both her work as a psychotherapist working with women and body, and as a photographer. In her private practice, Aviva focuses on women struggling with body image and motherhood. Her photography has been shown at the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance conference, Riverdale Y art gallery, Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, and Limmud UK. The exhibit will be displayed in the Neil and Joyce Goldstein Lobby through April.
