Join Congregation Beth El and B’nai Jacob of Jersey City for a joint Juneteenth Kabbalat Shabbat, a service that celebrates the abolition of slavery in this country. This will include liturgy appropriate for the moment, as well as a speaker.

This Shabbat we’ve invited Activist Dennis Febo to speak about the ACR145 addendum to the 13th Amendment of the NJ State Constitution which would officially ban ALL forms of slavery (specifically forced labor on persons incarcerated). This addendum will be on the November ballot and its pivotal that we in the Jewish community take an active stance with regard to modern-day slavery in our very own state!
