The Bible’s “wisdom” literature (Proverbs, Job, Kohelet) is mainly about knowledge we acquire through experience.  But what if the only knowledge we gain from inquiry is knowledge of our ignorance?  That is Kohelet’s plight. Let’s discuss his recognition of the problem and his proposed solution. In our first session, we will talk about the concept of “wisdom” in the Bible and its environment. Then we will read selections from Kohelet with the aid of traditional and modern commentary.
