We enter the Thanksgiving holiday focused on a week that was highlighted by tragedy. There were violent mass shootings at an LGBTQ night club in Colorado Springs, CO and at a Wal-Mart in Chesapeake, Virginia. And we awoke this morning to learn of two bombings at bus stops in Jerusalem, that left one dead and dozens injured, a reminder of the bus bombings that happened throughout Israel during the intifada. We mourn the loss of innocent life and pray for a world without such hatred and violence. As we prepare for Thanksgiving, we not only give thanks for the blessings that each of us experience in our lives every day. We recommit ourselves to building a more peaceful world without bombings and shootings, a world without violence, a world where everyone can give thanks. May the memories of those whose lives were lost be for a blessing. - Rabbi Jesse Olitzky and Rabbi Rachel Marder ... See MoreSee Less
